Bonnie J. Hendricks
Bonnie J. Hendricks, 66, rural Plymouth, passed away at 4:17 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016, in Signature Health Care, Bremen.
Bonnie was born the daughter of Matthew Inman and Dora (Naragon) Whitmer at South Bend, on May 19, 1949. She had been a local resident since 1970. She was a homemaker and had previously worked at; Easy Heat Wirecraft of Lakeville, worked in Daycares, she was a meter reader for REMC, she was a cook at Swan Lake Golf Club, but most notably she was a Milk Maid for the Robert Samuelson family. She was also a member of the Tyner Rebekah Lodge and attended Blissville Church of the Brethren.
On June 21, 1970 she married Roger Hendricks at Pine Creek Church of the Brethren in North Liberty, Indiana. He survives along with her daughter: Marty Hendricks and Drew Godfrey, Elkhart; her son: Russell (Helen) Hendricks, Plymouth; granddaughter: Katelyn Hendricks; two step-grandchildren; 11 step great-grandchildren; three step great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her three sisters: Susan (Terry) Boswell, Calif.; Linda Borton, North Liberty; and Evelyn Gardner, Walkerton; three brothers: Gene Whitmer, N.Y.; Rolo (Rita) Whitmer, Ga.; and Jim (Theresa) Whitmer, North Liberty. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers: Jerry and Charles Whitmer.
The Van Gilder Funeral Home is caring for the Bonnie J. Hendricks family. A funeral in honor of Bonnie will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 2, at the Van Gilder Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the New Oak Hill Cemetery. A time of visiting with the Hendricks family will be held from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, at the Van Gilder Funeral Home.
The Hendricks family requests memorial contributions be given to the Center for Hospice Care, Plymouth.
