AKRON – The Tippecanoe Valley Middle School girls basketball teams and the wrestling team were all in action on Wednesday night.

The 8th grade A team defeated Manchester 31-26.  Emma Craig led Valley to the win with 12 points. Jillian Walls had nine points and Makenzie Woodcox five. Karina Young had four points and Tracy Smith two.

The 7th grade A team lost to Manchester 47-19. Sidney Wagner led the way with nine points. Taylor Biddle scored five points and Ashley Butler and Hayley Backus each had two and Taylor Olivarez one for Valley.

The 7th grade A team beat Peru 29-13 on Tuesday night. Wagner led the winners with nine points. Hannah Parson scored six point and Rylee Kaufman and Backus each had four points. Haylee Brown, along with Biddle and Olivarez each scored two points.

The Valley wrestling team opened its season Wednesday versus Crestview and Edgewood.

Winning matches for Valley versus Crestview were  Joseph Irons, Andy Hurd, Andrew Burke, Ian Becker, Luis Castillo, Matthew Davis, Branson McBrier, Hunter Eherenman, Zach Burke and Landon Grossman.

The winners for Valley in the Edgewood meet were  Uvaldo Gutierrez, Luis Castillo, Joseph Irons, Johnny Gonzales, Andy Hurd, Brandon Hammer, Tyler Nine, Branson McBrier, Nathaniel Arnett, and Cooper Slone.
