SYRACUSE — Dr. Tom Edington, superintendent of Wawasee Community School Corp., reports there was a small incident at Wawasee Middle School, prior to the start of school, this morning, Feb. 19.

“There was a smoking electrical panel in the gymnasium area,” Edington reports. Turkey Creek Fire Territory was notified when the automatic alarm system was activated and responded.

“School is still being held and is on-time. The lights are up and running in that area. We are bringing in fans to remove any smoky smell that is remaining.”
