Richard 'Dick' A. LemlerRichard “Dick” A. Lemler, 80, Tippecanoe, passed away at 9:20 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17, at home in his peaceful sleep.

Dick was born on Feb. 28, 1935, at Bourbon, to Harold and Ruth (Secrist) Lemler. He was a lifelong resident of Marshall County. He was a farmer and had worked as an Escort for Fairmont Homes. In his spare time he enjoyed sports: Indiana University Hoosiers and was a Green Bay Packer fan. He also enjoyed the euchre club he has been apart of for over 50 years; having coffee with the “Corner Boys Club” at the corner restaurant in Bourbon where many stories were shared. Dick also served in the United States Army.

Dick married the love of his life Carol J. Redman on June 29, 1955, She preceded in death June 19, 2011.

Dick is survived by his daughter: Jill (Tom) Neyhart, New Carlisle; his son: Mike (Kim) Lemler, Milford; grandchildren: Abigail; Emily; Gabe; Hannah; three brothers: Lowell ‘Butch’ and Nancy Lemler, Bourbon; and Chester ‘Chub’ Lemler, Tippecanoe, and Dennis ‘Boomer’ Lemler, Bourbon.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two sisters: June Klotz; Peg Briney; and two brothers: Kenneth and LaMar Lemler.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, at Tippecanoe Community Church, Tippecanoe. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, in the church, with David Steakhouse officiating. The family is asking that you dress casual for the funeral. Dick’s request is blue jeans. Burial will follow in the Tippecanoe Cemetery with Military Honors by the Bourbon American Legion.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to Impact Campus Ministries of South Bend, Tampa, Fla.

Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
