NORTH WEBSTER — Since Wawasee school students get a day off school on Monday, Feb. 22, let them celebrate with Family Bingo at 1 p.m. that day. Always a popular event, Family Bingo is fun for all ages with lots of chances to win. Everyone goes home with prizes.

Later in the week bring the kids to family movie time at 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25. The library will be showing a feature film adaptation of a popular young adult book series in which a teenager realizes his reclusive neighbor is a horror author and discovers the dangerous secret inside his home. This family-friendly adventure is rated PG and runs 103 minutes with free popcorn included.

On the adult side, Voyager Book Club meets at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 22, to discuss domestic fiction. If you have read a good domestic fiction book lately, bring it to Voyager to share and hear about books others have read. It’s a great way to explore different genres and discover new titles and authors.

Revolving Recipe Round-Up meets the following day at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23. The focus will be the color red with everyone bringing a dish that contains a red ingredient. It’s always a good time of sampling delicious food, swapping recipes, and making new friends. The library supplies the table services along with free coffee.

Have you visited the library’s Local History and Genealogy Center lately? Since it opened in January 2006 with 141 items, our collection has grown to 5,200 titles, plus many historical artifacts, memorabilia, and photos. Our historical photo collection includes military people, local families, local places, and school and sport photos.

We are always looking to expand our collection. If you have any old photographs of local people, places, or things, bring them into the Local History and Genealogy Center. We can scan them to make a copy and return to you the original photographs. We are also interested in receiving donated artifacts of local significance. Stop in and see Director Beth Smith and show us what you’ve got.
