INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana State Department of Agriculture awarded $127,000 in livestock grant funding to 15 nonprofit organizations to fund projects that will foster growth within the Hoosier livestock industry. Total funding requested was $262,600.

Kosciusko County Extension won a $2,000 grant for the Dairy Youth Academy.

“These grants become more competitive every year as more people become aware of this funding opportunity, and we enjoy seeing the new and innovative ideas that are submitted,” ISDA Director Ted McKinney said. “The projects selected represent those that will have the greatest impact and that transcend the livestock industry. We are excited to partner with these organizations.”

Grant submissions were reviewed by a committee to determine the programs and events that will have the greatest impact on all sectors of Indiana agriculture.
