MISHAWAKA – Wawasee could not find the basketball magic Saturday night, losing 53-41 at Mishawaka in The Cave.

Luke Shively was steady in leading the Cavemen in scoring with 16 points, scoring in all four quarters. Jordan Smith hit a pair of threes and netted 12 points for Mishawaka, with Dylan Hall finishing with nine points and Sam Eggleston and Devin Wakes both adding in seven points.

The Warriors had Cayden Wegener lead the team with 11 points, hitting three baskets from downtown. Tyler Smith scored eight points, Jairus Boyer had seven points and Jayce Boatwright had six points for Wawasee.

Mishawaka’s 21-7 start to the game ballooned to a 30-11 lead at halftime.

Mishawaka improves to 10-8 overall and will host New Prairie Wednesday night while Wawasee sits at 2-16 overall and will visit Westview Tuesday night.
