Tigers Sit At No. 4 In AP Poll

Warsaw SportsThe Warsaw boys basketball team occupies the spot as the lone remaining undefeated team in the Hoosier State.

The Tigers, who are 18-0, occupy the No. 4 spot in this week’s Class 4-A poll by the Associated Press.

Warsaw will look to complete a second straight undefeated run through the Northern Lakes Conference Friday night. The Tigers, who are 6-0 in league play, host Plymouth in the conference finale. Plymouth, which is 14-4 overall, is tied for second in the league standings with NorthWood at 5-1.

New Albany sits at No. 1 in this week’s Class 4-A poll. The other No. 1 teams this week are Tipton in Class 3-A, Barr-Reeve in 2-A and Blommfield in 1-A. Tipton was also undefeated when the poll was released before losing to Eastern Tuesday night.

NorthWood is ranked No. 3 in Class 3-A this week. The Panthers, who lost 51-35 to Warsaw on Jan. 29, are 16-2.

Other area teams in the rankings are South Bend Riley (No. 17 in 4-A), Mishawaka Marian (No. 5 in 3-A), Columbia City (No. 16 in 3-A) and Culver (No. 15 in 1-A).
