Rex E. Cook, 61, of Elkhart, formerly of Bremen, passed away at 9:44 p.m., Friday, Feb. 5, 2016, in Elkhart General Hospital.

Rex was born on Feb. 23, 1954, the son of Bobby and Christine (Martin) Cook.

He is survived by his longtime girlfriend: Terry Kaufman of Union, Mich.; father: Bobby Cook of Goshen; and six siblings: Tim Cook of Nappanee, Twila (Gary) Metz of Plymouth, Trudy Cook of Nappanee, Roy (Audrey) Cook of Morresburg, Tenn., Rhonda Karnes of Mitchell, and Ron (Randy) Cook of South Bend.

He is preceded in death by his mother, two brothers, and one sister.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2016, in Mishler Funeral Home, 2030 SR 331, Bremen, with one hour of visitation prior to the service. Pastor Jaree Kratzer will officiate. Burial will follow in Bremen Cemetery.
