Vikings Top Wabash To Stop Skid
WABASH – The Tippecanoe Valley boys basketball team got back on the winning track Thursday night.
The Vikings picked up a 58-52 win over host Wabash in a Three Rivers Conference contest.
Neil Clampitt canned a game-high 19 points to lead Valley to the win. He hit four treys in the TRC victory as Valley snapped a four-game losing streak.
Alec Craig finished with 16 points for the Vikings. Brandon Webster netted 11 points and Jarod Duzenbery came up with 10 for the winners.
Valley led 15-8 after the opening period and 22-20 at halftime versus the struggling Apaches.
The Vikings shot 21-41 overall from the field, including 6-17 from distance. Valley was 10-13 from the free throw line.
Taylor Vigar scored 17 points and Owen Yeadon chipped in with 12 to lead Wabash. The hosts were 21-48 overall from the field, including 4-13 from distance. Wabash shot 6-9 from the line in the contest.
Valley improves to 6-11 overall and moves to 4-3 in the TRC. Wabash drops to 2-13 overall and 1-6 in league play.
Valley plays at Maconaquah on Tuesday night. Wabash plays at Elwood Saturday.
