KOSCIUSKO COUNTY — Real Services will celebrate unsung heroes in Kosciusko, Elkhart, LaPorte, Marshall and St. Joseph Counties through the Age of Excellence awards.

These heroes include spouses, sons, daughters, neighbors, friends, businesses and professionals who give of themselves to care for the elderly and low-income in the communities.

Nominees must reside in one of the above-mentioned counties. The nomination selection committee, comprised of volunteers in a variety of fields from these counties, will choose the final recipients based solely on written information submitted by the nominator.

To nominate someone, visit the Real Services website and click on the Age of Excellence Nomination button. Written details regarding each nominee should include:

The nominee’s activities that benefit an older adult or group of older adults

The impact these activities have had on the nominator, other individuals or the community

Any additional, relevant information such as recognitions and awards, attitude or life philosophy, commitment, how long the nominee has been volunteering, the number of people served, number of hours given and any other such information.

Each nominee will receive a letter notifying them of their nomination along with information about the award process and the Age of Excellence awards luncheon, set for April 26.

Nominees will be invited to the luncheon free of charge, receive a discount for one of their own invited guests and receive a certificate acknowledging their service.
