Virginia L. Scott, 87, Warsaw, and formerly of Rochester, passed away peacefully at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, 2016, at Mason Health and Rehabilitation Center, Warsaw.
She was born Feb. 3, 1928, in Chicago, Ill. to Milo and Esther Hair. On June 29, 1946, she married the love of her life, Eugene “Scotty” Scott. He preceded her in death on Nov. 28, 2002.
Virginia spent many wonderful evenings on the dance floor with Scotty. While she enjoyed dressing up and socializing, she could roof a house with the best of them, often helping to build their early homes. Virginia was an avid golfer, enjoyed playing bridge with her friends, and watching live theater, especially when her grandson was performing.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Kevin (Lynnette) Scott, Warsaw; Doug (Ellen) Scott, Rochester; one granddaughter: Stephanie (Rich) Rensberger, Kewanna; three grandsons: Skye Scott, New York City; Steven Scott, Rochester; and Bryce Scott, Louisville, Ky. She was preceded in death by her brothers: Donald Hair; Jim Hair; and Claude Hair.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, at Zimmerman Brothers Funeral Home, Rochester, with services following at 7 p.m. A private internment will be held at a later date at Winamac Cemetery, Winamac.
