Valley JAG Students Do Well In Regional Competition

Nine Tippecanoe Valley High School students recently competed against students from 11 other schools at the JAG Region 2 Career Development Conference at the Kroc Center, South Bend.

The purpose of the competition was to improve job readiness skills in a professional environment. Valley students placed in five of the seven events in which they competed. There were 13 events in total.

Following is a brief description of the events:

  • Damon Ebey and Lena Holstein participated in the career presentation and writing skills competitions but did not place.
  • Nick Caudill placed third in the financial literacy competition.
  • The TVHS team’s chapter brochure received third place recognition

The following students each were awarded first place in their respective events and will represent TVHS at the State CDC in Indianapolis Friday, March 11.

Entrepreneurship plan competition (this is the first year for this event):

  • Cakes Etc.
  • Andrea Ewing
  • Hannah Jones
  • Amanda Shepherd
  • Harley Shuster

Employability skills competition:

  • Caitlyn Bailey

Public speaking competition:

  • Adrian Evans

This is the first time Valley has sent representatives to the state level, with six of the nine competitors going.
