Jon H. Rawleigh, 78, Union Township, Whitley County, died at 3:52 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016, at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home, Fort Wayne. He was born March 4, 1937, in Allen County, a son of Walter Rocco and Alta A. (Hippenhammer) Rawleigh. He graduated from high school in Florida and from the Art Institute in Fort Wayne.

On Aug. 26, 1961, he was united in marriage to June D. Flaugh. They made their home in Fort Wayne until 1968 when they moved to their present home. He was employed at Essex Wire, retiring from United Technology in 1980. His memberships included Trinity English Lutheran Church and National Rifle Association.

Surviving relatives include his wife: June; two children: Joni Spade; Sean (Chris) Rawleigh; five grandchildren: Erica and Hunter Spade; Tori; Alex; and Kassi Rawleigh, all of Columbia City. He was preceded in death by a son: Scott Rawleigh; and a sister: Janice Stalhut.

The funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, at Smith and Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City with visitation from 2-5 p.m. Saturday.
