Stanley E. ‘Stan’ Spaw

Stanley E. “Stan” Spaw, 76, of Warsaw, passed away at 12:05 a.m. Monday, Jan. 25, 2016, at his home. He was born on Oct. 21, 1939, in Fort Wayne, to Wilbur and Louise (Hunt) Spaw.
He grew up in Fort Wayne and attended Fort Wayne Central High School. He was married on Dec. 7, 1962, in Fort Wayne, to Carol Ann Hargis who survives and moved to the Warsaw area 45 years ago from Fort Wayne. He retired from Essex Wire in Columbia City as a lab technician after 32 years.
He formerly attended the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne and was a former member at the Eagles Lodge in Fort Wayne.
He is survived by wife: Carol Spaw, Warsaw; three daughters: Susan Caldwell, Jacksonville, Fla.; Sheila Spaw, Warsaw; Shannon (Mike) Harter, Wabash; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three sisters: Susan Spaw, Fort Wayne; Pamela Meeks, Edgewood, Ky.; and Renee (Dave) Grim, Fort Wayne; stepmother: Delores Grim, Gas City.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother: Terry Lee Spaw.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29, Owen Family Funeral Home, SR. 13 and CR 500N, North Webster. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. Friday, in the funeral home with Pastor Linda McBride of Covenant Partners Ministries in Muncie, IN officiating. Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. SR 15, Warsaw.
Preferred memorials may be given to Great Lakes Hospice, 334 Enterprise Drive, Warsaw, IN 46580. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
