Lois OkunLois Ann Okun, Warsaw, passed away at 12:05 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2016, at Warsaw Meadows Health Care at the age of 84.

She had been a resident of Kosciusko County, for the past four years and was a homemaker. Lois graduated from high school in Los Angeles, Calif. in 1949. She volunteered at the Vancouver Fort on the Lewis and Clark Trail in Vancouver, Wash., and was a gifted oil and china painter. Most of all she was a loving mother and grandmother who loved to serve others.

She was born on Feb. 23, 1931, in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, to Benjamin Kathren and Sally (Foreman) Kathren. On Nov. 6, 1949, in Los Angeles, Calif. she was married to Samuel Okun, who passed away on Feb. 5, 2008.

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter: Wendy Christy, Warsaw; son: Gary (Eva) Okun, Los Angeles, Calif.; two grandchildren: Angela Christy, Warsaw; Matthew Christy, Laramie, Wyo.; and her brother: Ronald (Susan) Kathren, Richland, Wash. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother: Raymond; and her son-in-law: Ron Christy.

Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw. A graveside service will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw.

Memorial donations may be directed to the American Heart Association, Chicago, and would be appreciated by the family.
