WARSAW — A ribbon cutting took place at 1 p.m. today at the intersection of Market Street and Argonne Road, next to Walgreens. The road was temporarily closed to through traffic.

The ribbon cutting signified the completion of the streets of Argonne to Bronson, which went through a redesign; including new sidewalks, street lights and trees.

Mayor Joe Thallemer thanked the partners that have supported the construction overhaul and for “putting up with the weather delays.”

This was phase one of a city improvement plan. Phase two will take the project downtown and will result in a street redesign that is safe for pedestrians, bikers and drivers. The plan will also benefit users with disabilities.

Construction bids are set to begin in March of 2018.
