Vikings Fall To TRC Foe Southwood
WABASH – A tough second quarter led to a conference loss for the Tippecanoe Valley boys basketball team at Southwood Friday night.
The hosts outscored the Vikings 22-9 in the pivotal period en route to posting a 72-61 win in Three Rivers Conference action.
Valley led 23-16 after a strong first quarter before falling behind 38-32 at halftime.
Alec Craig poured in a game-high 21 points to pace the Vikings.
Jarod Duzenbery scored 16 points and Brandon Webster added 12 for Valley.
The Vikings, who have lost three in a row, drop to 5-10 overall and go to 3-2 in TRC play.
Carson Blair and Blake Martz each scored 15 points to lead Southwood. The Knights, who have won five in a row, improve to 10-2 overall and move to 5-0 in league action.
Valley hosts TRC foe Manchester next Friday night. Southwood plays at Oak Hill tonight.
