Eagles Clip The Cougars
WINONA LAKE – The Lakeland Christian Academy girls basketball team came up on the short end of a 52-38 final to Culver Academies Friday night.
The host Cougars trailed just 21-17 at halftime and 34-29 at the end of the third period before being outscored 18-9 in the final frame.
Hannah Delp led the way for LCA with 12 points to go with five rebounds.
Rachel Sand had eight points and five rebounds for the Cougars and Melissa Goss added seven points. Ellie Nieveen scored five points for the Cougars. Brady Gross and Carissa Urschalitz each had two points and Urschalitz had eight rebounds.
Marie Steiner led CGA with a game-high 16 points.
LCA drops to 11-9 on the season, while the Eagles improve to 9-7.
LCA plays at Granger Christian Tuesday night. CGA hosts Westville Saturday night.
