WARSAW — At 9:24 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 10, officers with Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department responded to an accident located on West CR 100 South, west of South SR 25, Warsaw.

Upon arrival police located a blue and white 1979 Chevrolet pick up truck in the roadway. The operator of the vehicle, identified as Dylan K. Manwaring, 17, SR 25, Mentone, informed officers he was traveling west on CR 100S when he encountered a large patch of ice on the roadway.

Manwaring noted he felt the back end of his truck start to loose traction and felt the truck begin to spin. He was unable to stop or correct the line of travel, causing him to leave the roadway and roll over the vehicle. The truck stopped in a nearby field upright. Manwaring proceeded to travel back to the road and await police arrival.

A passenger in his vehicle, Kinzie Prater, 15, of Mentone, complained of head and neck pain and had some bleeding from her right hand. Manwaring had small abrasions to his head. Lutheran EMS responded to the scene to transport Prater to the hospital. Both occupants stated they were wearing their safety belts at the time of the accident.

The vehicle was towed by Glen’s Towing. Damages are estimated up to $10,000.
