UPDATE: Michael Smith, 25, Rochester, was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital after complaining of leg pain following a one-vehicle accident at 7:30 a.m. today, Jan. 13. The accident was near 7666 N. SR 15, Leesburg.

Kosciusko County Master Deputy Sheriff Shane Bucher determined Smith was northbound on SR 15 and for an unknown reason, his Mustang went off the roadway. Smith over-corrected, causing the vehicle to go left of center and hit a tree on the opposite side of the roadway, before the wreckage came to a stop back on the road.

Bucher was assisted at the scene by members of the Leesburg/Plain Township Fire Department and Lutheran EMS.

The vehicle is a total loss.

LEESBURG — One person was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital after a Ford Mustang left the roadway hitting a tree and coming to rest on SR 15. Traffic is backed up until the wrecker service can remove the vehicle.

Leesburg Fire Department, Lutheran EMS and Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department responded to the one-vehicle accident, at 7777 N. SR 15, just north of Leesburg.
