ROCHESTER – The 1-2 punch of Nate Walpole and River West combined for Whitko to deck Rochester in boys basketball action Friday night.

Walpole and West each tossed in 23 points as the Wildcats topped the host Zebras 82-62 in a Three Rivers Conference contest.

Rochester led 18-15 after the opening period before Whitko rallied to take a 35-30 halftime lead. The Wildcats then outscored the hosts 47-32 in the second half to pull away to the league win.

Tanner Gaff and Devon Adkins each had 15 points for the winners. Gaff also had seven rebounds. Spencer Sroufe added six points and five rebounds for the Wildcats.

Whitko improves to 6-5 overall and goes to 2-1 in TRC play. Rochester, which has lost its last four games, drops to 1-9 overall and 1-2 in the TRC.

Whitko hosts Eastbrook Tuesday night. Rochester plays at Tippecanoe Valley Friday night.
