PORTAGE — The Lakeland Christian boys basketball team had the breakthrough night on the court it has been waiting for. The Cougars made the trip to Portage Christian and picked up a 60-43.

LCA jumped out to a 16-9 lead after the first quarter and held a 28-16 advantage at the break. After losing the battle 11-8 in the third quarter the Cougars had a 24-point effort in the final frame to secure the win.

Josh McDaniel led all scorers with 20 points. Carter Twombly helped the effort with 18 points and completed the double-double with 10 rebounds. Jon Harmon recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Harmon also led the team with six assists.

LCA (1-11) will host Argos Tuesday night.

In the JV game LCA won 29-26 thanks to a game-winning three pointer from Evan Bremer.
