ANKENY, IOWA — Ankeny police said Thursday their new K-9 named Bosco made a big discovery on his first case.

Police said they seized 40-pounds of marijuana with an estimated street value of $122,000.

The dog joined the department last fall and has been in training until this month. He was a rescue dog from Special O.P.S. K-9 Academy in North Webster, Indiana.

A city-wide fundraising effort, including help by a 5-year-old boy, allowed the department to add the dog.
