Billy G. Shumaker, 84, North Manchester, died at 9:57 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2016, at Parkview Wabash Hospital.
He was born in Laketon on Sept. 12, 1931, to John W. and Lola (Warner) Smith, both deceased. He married Jacqueline L. ‘Jackie’ Collins on Sept. 11, 1955. She died March 25, 2013.
Billy worked at Warner Corp. in North Manchester for 17 years and retired from BKB Manufacturing, North Manchester, in 1993.
He is survived by son: Frank (Sharon) Shumaker, Columbia City; daughters: Peggy (Vaughn) Callahan, Huntington; Betty Gressley, North Manchester; brother: John R. (Jean) Shumaker, Fort Wayne; sisters: Betty May Bolsover, Wabash; Georgia Dean Metzger, Wabash; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by one son: Paul Douglas Shumaker; one stepson: Jan Shepherd; and one brother.
Billy was a Korean War Army Veteran and was a member of Ijamsville United Methodist Church.
Calling hours will be from 10 a.m. to noon Monday, Jan. 11, at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester. The funeral will begin at noon, also on Monday, at the funeral home. Pastor Kent Harting will officiate. Burial will be at Laketon Cemetery, Laketon.
