
SYRACUSE — Turkey Creek Fire Territory and Syracuse EMS responded to a vehicle on fire late in the morning today, Monday, Jan. 4. The call came through around 11 a.m., sending firefighters onto the snowy roads.
Emergency personnel arrived on scene to find a small Dodge truck engulfed in flames just south of a residence located at 10706 N. 450E.
According to Fire Chief Mickey Scott, the fire originated in the passenger compartment of the vehicle for an unknown reason, and is believed to be accidental.
Firefighters quickly worked to extinguish the flames, leaving a smoldering engine and a lot of melted snow.
The 1988 Dodge Dakota is registered to Thomas Similton, and is estimated to be a total loss.
