Richard ‘Dick’ W. Wright
WARSAW — Richard “Dick” W. Wright of Warsaw, died 7:58 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 3, 2016, at Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne at the age of 75.
He was a 1958 graduate of South Whitley High School and attended Purdue University. He served in the Indiana National Guard and was a member of Warsaw United Methodist Church where he was an usher and had served on various committees.
Dick had worked for R.R. Donnelley of Warsaw from 1964-2002. He had held many positions over the years while working there and he retired as the manager of the press room and bindery.
After retirement he worked part-time for 10 years for the USDA/NASS an an enumerator; was active in Junior Achievement, Home Health Care, and Mobile Meals. Dick rang the bell for the Salvation Army for many years and was a proud member of the Warsaw Kiwanis Club.
He was born on June 2, 1940, in Whitley County, to Max Wright and Marie (Resler) Wright. On Feb. 21, 1965, he was married to Diana (Fawcett) Wright.
He will be lovingly remembered by his son: Jeffery Wright; and his fiancée Maggie Briseno, Chicago, Ill.; two daughters: Lynn Wright and her fiancé Cory Blaising Coldwater, Mich.; Tara (husband Brian) Petrusch, Naperville, Ill.; four grandchildren: Delaney, Charlie, Kyle and Drew; and his sister: Linda (husband David) Sienicki Ely, Minn. He also leaves behind his furry friends, his beloved cats: Rigsby and Roxie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Don Wright.
Visitation will be held from 2-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 6, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana.
His celebration of life service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, at First United Methodist Church of Warsaw, 179 S. Indiana St.,, Warsaw, and officiated by Pastors Toni L. and Scott D. Carmer. Burial will follow with a graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw.
