ELKHART — Doris A. Nusbaum, 91, Elkhart, died 4:20 a.m. Friday, Jan. 1, at Hubbard Hill. She was born April 2, 1924 in Elkhart, to Lloyd F. and Wilma (Tavernier) Barwick. She married Clarence O. Nusbaum on May 15, 1942.

Doris was retired from Concord Community Schools where she was a Matron. She was a member of Elkhart Valley Church of the Brethren and a 1942 graduate of Concord High School.

Surviving are five daughters: Karen Green, Goshen; Judith Shelev of New Paris; Joyce (David) Polston, Elkhart; Charlene (Neil) Peterson, Elkhart; Annette (Timothy) Ellsworth, Osceola; and 24 Grandchildren; 30 Great-Grandchildren.

Preceding her in death are her parents, two daughters: Patricia Moss; Cheryl Brotton. Two sisters: Ann Marie Grimmison; Norma Whitmyer. A brother: Omar Barwick.

Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m, Tuesday, Jan. 5. at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Goshen.

Visitation will also be from 9-10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 6, with a 10 a.m. service following at Elkhart Valley Church of the Brethren, 24955 CR 24, Elkhart.

Pastor Mike Martin will be officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Street Cemetery, Elkhart.
