Oscar “Pee Wee” Russell, 70, Milford, passed away Friday, Dec. 25, 2015, in Fort Wayne from a heart attack. He was born on March 27, 1945, in South Bend to Oscar M. and Thelma (Crawford) Russell. He married Martha “Myrt” Elliott Fisher on Dec. 30, 1995.

Pee Wee worked many years as a painter for Smoker Craft before his retirement in 2008. He and his wife Myrt were the owners and operators of the concession stand at New Paris Speedway for several years. After his retirement, he started working part time at South Shore Golf Course in Syracuse. Pee Wee attended the Wawasee Community Bible Church, enjoyed auto racing and watching sports.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years: Martha ‘Myrt’; a daughter: Karen (Rick) Simbeck, Elkhart; three stepsons: Craig (Jen) Fisher, Milford; Steven (Lora) Fisher, Warsaw; and Ronald (Mary) Fisher, Milford; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving is his brother: Greg (Jeanette) Russell, Wyatt; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of Pee Wee’s life will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 1, 2016 at the Wawasee Community Bible Church, Milford; Pastor Josh Weiland will officiate the service. Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to K21 Foundation, Warsaw.

Arrangements were entrusted to Heritage Funeral and Cremation Services, Warsaw.
