The puppy, who goes by “Chance” or “Christmas” now, was found with his mouth duct taped shut over the weekend.

LAPORTE COUNTY — Veterinarians are working to save a dog found over the Christmas holidays in Michigan City with its mouth duct taped shut.

That’s according to the animal rescue group “Guardians of the green mile.”  A spokeswoman for the agency says a man found the 3- to 4-month-old pit bull wandering and took it to an emergency vet clinic in Westville. She says she believes the dog, who is being called “Chance” or “Christmas,” was used as a so-called “bait dog” for dog fighting.

We’ve got a link  to the animal rescue group’s page where they have more information on how the dog is doing and on how you can help the animal:https://www.facebook.com/GuardiansOfTheGreenMile/posts/943972619019034
