Dale F. Pittman, 78, Bremen, passed away at 9:05 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 26, 2015, in his home surrounded by family.
Dale was born on Oct. 16, 1937, the son of the late Roscoe and Catherine (Daley) Pittman. On March 2, 1968, he married Sally Swartzlander.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years: Sally; four children: Stephen E. (Michelle) Pittman; Stephanie L. Richard; Gayle (Terry) Graverson; and Rick Andrews, all of Bremen; nine grandchildren: Dustin Pittman; Brittney Pittman; Evan Wilson; Jaden Wilson; Jacob Richard; Tony Richard; Jessica (Dan) Flores; Marty (Mindy) Graverson; and Regan (Jace) Freeman; and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister: Carol Phillips, Elkhart. He is preceded in death by his parents and six siblings: Chalmer Pittman; Dave Pittman; Jim Pittman; Patty Null; Mary Lou Stutzman; and Nancy Jaret.
Dale proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked for over 16 years at the former Copperfield, which is now Southwire. He was also the former owner of Lake of the Woods Grocery. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, in Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Bremen Cemetery with military honors.
