Janice M. Norman, 45, Akron, passed away at 9:50 a.m. Monday, Dec. 21, 2015, at her residence.

She was born on Sept. 27, 1970, in Kokomo, the daughter of Larry and Judy (Davies) Hecht.

Janice had worked in manufacturing for many years. She enjoyed listening to music, gardening, cooking, and tending to her two canine companions, Socks and Sammy.

Survivors include her son: DeWayne Hecht, Macy; sisters: Denise (Brian) Pierce, Largo, Fla.; Angela (Rob) Nulf, Cape Coral, Fla.; brother: Kenny (Pat) Hecht; nephew: Jeremy Hecht, Largo, Fla.; several cousins; aunts; and uncles. She was preceded in death by her parents; son: Bryant Scott; sister: Velma Jean ‘Jeannie’ Meier; paternal grandparents; and maternal grandparents.

Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 27, at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester. Burial will take place at a later date at Plainview Cemetery, Macy.
