NORTH WEBSTER — When the novelty of their new Christmas toys wears off and boredom settles in, you may be looking for ways to keep the kids occupied over Christmas break. The North Webster Library has lots of youth activities planned next week to keep the kids entertained.
The big event is Mark’s Ark Live Animal Show at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, when expert animal handler Mark Kohlhorst brings his animal friends for a “lively,” hands-on learning experience. This is a show all ages will enjoy as they get to meet, pet, and learn about all kinds of animals. Mark’s Ark is always a popular event and will be held in the North Webster Community Center Banquet Hall. Everyone is welcome.
Treat the kids to a free movie matinee at 3 p.m. Monday, Dec. 28, in the Library Meeting Room. Showing is an animated comedy about three minions who set out to find a new evil master to serve and are recruited by a super-villainess who hatches a plot to take over the world. The move is rated PG and runs 91 minutes. There will be plenty of free popcorn, and you’re welcome to bring your own drinks.
The next day at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, it’s Family Bingo. Children of all ages can play with lots of chances to win and plenty of prizes to give away. Everyone goes home a winner. We are expecting a good turnout for Family Bingo, so it will be held in the North Webster Community Center Banquet Hall where there will be room for everyone. Then at 4 p.m. that day, the kids can gather in the Library Meeting Room for Crafts and Stories where they can do a fun craft while listening to stories.
The adults will be listening to stories as well during Voyager Book Club at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 28. Book Club members were assigned to read a Christmas story of their choice and share and discuss what they have read.
As a reminder, the library will be closed Dec. 24-27 for the Christmas holiday and closed Thursday, Dec. 31 through Sunday, Jan. 3 for the New Year holiday and Evergreen System upgrade. The library staff wishes their patrons a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and thanks them for their loyal patronage throughout the year.
