COLUMBIA CITY — Three men are behind bars in the Whitley County Jail after allegedly kidnapping, carjacking and raping a woman.

Though details are limited at this time, the Whitley County Prosecutor’s Office has released a statement with preliminary details. According to the release, Henry M. Wright Jr., 25, is charged with rape, a level one felony, kidnapping, a level 2 felony, and robbery, a level 3 felony; Camara J. Benson, 21, is charged with kidnapping, a level 2 felony, and robbery, a level 3 felony; Dennis L. Thomas, 43, is charged with aiding in kidnapping, a level 2 felony.

These men are currently being held at the Whitley County Jail and their charges are filed in the Whitley Circuit Court. They will be given an initial hearing on Monday, Dec. 21.

The Journal Gazette reports the men allegedly kidnapped the woman on Tuesday, Dec. 15, in South Whitley. The three men later attempted to utilize her ATM card at STAR Financial Bank in Columbia City before being found that night in Fort Wayne.
