Trojan Wrestlers Triumph At North Miami

DENVER – Triton continued its impressive wrestling campaign Tuesday night with a 58-24 win at North Miami.

The Trojans scored five pins, a major decision and four forfeits to its credit against the Warriors. All five pins came in the first round of the respective matches, led by a 35-second slap from Lee Mullet over Tyler Civits at 138. Miles Ortiz (:50), Gage Waddle (:52), John Salinas (:58) and Adonic Salinas (1:44) all scored pins against Nicole Eccles, Pablo Bengoa, Dylan Hanson and Wyatt Fletcher.

Malachi Greene scored a 10-1 major decision against Casey Deardorff in the 120 match.

Nick Harker, Ryan Horne, James Snyder and Vincent Helton all were awarded forfeits for a free 24 team points for the Trojans.

All of North Miami’s points came on pins. Lane Eckrote took care of Cameron Scarberry at 3:10, Jake Clingaman beat Billy Smith at 1:37, Bailey Stoner pinned Tony King at 3:05 and Wyatt Dyson needed 1:24 to beat Riley Chickering.

Triton ups its team record to 12-6 overall and will next compete in the Rochester Invite Wednesday, Dec. 23.
