Jordan L. Setters, 65, Columbia City, passed away at 10:24 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, 2015, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.

Born Feb. 1, 1950, in Vanceburg, Ky., he was the son of Ernest and Lucille (Bloom) Setters.

Jordan attended Lewis County Schools and graduated with the Class of 1968. Following high school, Jordan proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam and later in the U.S. Coast Guard, retiring from each branch. Jordan came to Fort Wayne following his military service, where he worked for the Fort Wayne Foundary. He met his future wife, Barbara Ann Mikutis, working there and April 4, 2001, they were married in Huntington County.

Jordan lived in North Manchester for three years before coming to settle in Columbia City, where he has been a resident since 2002.

Jordan enjoyed family time and all kinds of food, whether he was eating or cooking it. His loves were Chinese food and peach cobbler and, of course, dill pickles. Jordan also enjoyed camping, traveling to Elizabethtown, Ky., near Fort Knox, as well as NASCAR and any kind of football.

Survivors include: his loving wife, Barbara Ann Setters Columbia City; children:  Elizabeth Setters and Monica (Jack) Overmyer, both of Fort Wayne, Ernest (Khristina) Setters, Fort Campbell, Ky., Priscilla Bland, Columbia City, Balena (Armando) Hernandez, Elkhart, and Joshua (Elizabeth) Bonilla, Kendallville; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers: Walter (Virginia) Setters, Michigan, and Michael (Brenda) Setters, Vanceburg, Ky.; and special friends: Jenni Setters and Robert Keller, both of Fort Wayne.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

In accordance with Jordan’s wishes, there will be no visitation or services. Memorial contributions in memory of Jordan may be made to American Heart Association. Arrangements by DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City.
