Nicholas 'Nick' C BabcockNick Babcock, our beloved son, brother, and uncle, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Dec. 7, 2015. Nick was born to David and Rosalie Babcock on July 4, 1979 in South Bend.

He was raised with his two brothers in Plymouth, and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1998. Nick studied microbiology at Ball State University and completed his bachelor’s degree in 2007. For the past five years Nick lived in Lafayette, and worked in different labs at Purdue University as well as at CVS as a pharmacy technician. Nick was a man of science who was passionate about the rigorous pursuit of knowledge. Nick was also an avid reader and learner who became broadly informed and passionate about a range of social justice issues. Nick had a good sense of humor and a quick wit. He enjoyed movies and he loved to hang out with his family. Nick was a sharp and precise thinker, and he was a kind and caring person.

He was deeply loved and will be deeply missed by his family: David and Rosalie Babcock; Nate; Brandy; and Ben Babcock; and Chris and Katie Babcock; as well as by his grandmother; aunt; cousins; and friends.

The funeral service will be at Crossroads Evangelical Free Church, Plymouth, at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 14, and there will be one hour visitation prior to the service with Pastor Nate Babcock and Pastor Scott Yoder officiating. After the service there will be a committal at Oak Hill Cemetery in Plymouth and then a dinner at Crossroads Church. Visitation will be at Van Gilder Funeral Home, Plymouth, from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13.
