
Robert Earl Van Klaveren, 85, Goshen, died 1:36 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2015, at his home. He was born Nov. 14, 1930 in Freemont, Iowa to John & Blanche (McDonald) Van Klaveren.
Robert was a mechanic and a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church. He sang in the Men of Music, formerly Menno Singers. Robert was an avid supporter of his grandchildren’s music and sporting events. He enjoyed fishing, football and was fascinated by planes and liked John Wayne movies.
Surviving are five children, Alinda (Wayne) Millslagle, Morton, Ill., Micheal (Kathy) Van Klaveren, Goshen, Kathleen (Scott) Parker, Warsaw, Beth (Tom) Bailey, Columbus, Karen (Mark) Johnson, Goshen, 16 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Arlene Van Klaveren, Oskaloosa, Iowa.
Preceding him in death are his parents, former wife, Margaret Van Klaveren, companion, Vivian Goodman and a brother, John Van Klaveren.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11, and 9-10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015 with the service at 10 a.m. all at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Goshen. Burial will be in Violett Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Mark’s United Methodist Church or the American Heart Association.
