MILFORD: Programs and events happening at Milford Public Library:

LEGO Crew

LEGO Crew is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, Dec. 12. On the second Saturday of each month, we get together and let our imaginations run wild. This program is for children age 5 and up. We provide the LEGO’s, you provide your creativity and imagination. Call the library if you have any questions.

Adult Craft Night

Make a beautiful holiday wreath from a picture frame at the next Adult Craft Night from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 14. Join other local crafters and enjoy a fun, relaxing evening at the library making your wreath. Cost is $12 per person and there is a sign-up sheet at the circulation desk in the adult department. Payment is due at the time of registration. All materials will be provided. Bring a friend and make something new to add to your holiday decorations.

Silly Safaris’ Reindeer Program

Join us at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, over at the Milford Community Building to see the Animals of the North Pole. Silly Safaris will be bringing mammals, reptiles, birds and other arctic animals. Don’t forget to bring your cameras to this event so that you can get a picture with the reindeer at the end of the program. This is a free program for the whole family. See you on Thursday, Dec. 17, to see the animals of the north pole.

Paying Fines

This year the library is trying to avoid rolling over fines from 2015 into 2016. If you are aware you accrued a fine in 2015 or before, please be sure to pay it before Wednesday, Dec. 30. If you have a large fine due to lost material, feel free to give us a call at (574) 658-4312 and we will work out a payment plan for you. All fines collected are considered income and help keep the tax rate down. Fines are not meant to be carried indefinitely on a patron card. Come in and pay your fine today.

Make and Take Craft

Most schools let out on Friday, Dec. 18, for Christmas Break. The very next week, Milford Public Library will have crafts available to make in the children’s department. These crafts are for children of all ages. From Monday, Dec. 21, till the Wednesday, Dec. 30, we will have crafts that you can come in and make anytime during our open hours.

On Monday, Dec. 21, come and make a wreath card, and at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, watch a movie with your friends and family about cute little yellow oval-shaped men in the meeting room.

On, Wednesday, Dec. 23, make a paper plate Christmas tree. The next week on Monday, Dec. 28, create a Peanuts picture frame to hang up in your room and at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29 join us for a movie about a man who turns into an ant size hero in the meeting room. On Wednesday, Dec. 30, make a snowman measuring stick to measure the snow we get this winter.

Happy holidays and we hope you visit the library over Christmas Break.
