Vikings Rally Late For Hoops Win
KNOX – A fine finish netted the Tippecanoe Valley boys basketball team its first win of the young season Friday night.
The Vikings outscored host Knox by 13 points in the final frame to rally for a 45-36 victory in a non-conference contest.
The host Redskins led 30-26 entering the fourth quarter before being outscored 19-6 in the final period.
Alec Craig led the way for the Vikings with 15 points by hitting 6-8 shots from the field.
Neil Clampitt had 13 points and a team-high seven rebounds for Valley. Bryce Webster added six points for the winners.
Valley shot 18-43 overall from the field and 7-15 from the free throw line. Knox was just 14-43 from the field and 4-5 from the line.
The Vikings had just four turnovers in the win, while the hosts committed 16 miscues on the night.
Kooper Brocker tossed in a game-high 23 points and snared seven rebounds for Knox. He was the only player in double figures for the home team.
Valley, now 1-2, will host Culver Academy Tuesday night. Knox, which drops to 2-2, travels to Plymouth Tuesday night.
