BOURBON – Triton faced a decent challenge from Caston on the mat, but seven gimmes made the match much more lopsided in a 66-12 Triton wrestling win Thursday night.
Of the seven dual matches between the two squads, Caston won three of them. But four Triton pins and the 42 free points on Caston weight class forfeits put the win in Triton’s corner.
Triton scored pins from Miles Ortiz over Jamie Sailors at 106, Malachi Greene over James Keil at 120, Nick Harker over Zachary Slocum at 160 and Cameron Scarberry over Micah Paul at 195. All four of Triton’s pins came in the first period, the fastest by Scarberry in 32 seconds.
Caston earned wins in pinfall by Efrain Amezquita over Ryan Snyder at 138 and a pair of decisions. Zander Henderson scored a 5-2 win over Adonic Salinas at 126 and Jake Maroney a 4-2 win against Bryce Swihart at 113.
Triton moves to 5-2 overall and will prepare for action this Saturday at the South Adams Invite.
