James M. Perry, 74, of Columbia City, Ind., passed away Friday, Nov. 6, 2015, in his home. On June 18, 1941, he was born in Tipton, to Chester and Sarah (Snider) Perry.

A lifetime resident of Whitley County, James served our country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War from 1963 – 1967. After his service to our country he received his Associates degree from IVY Tech in Electronic Engineering. He worked several years for Magnavox and then managed his father’s company.

He is survived by two children: Emily (Jason) Williams, Columbia City; David Perry, Columbia City; three grand-children: Katie, Jeremiah and Jordan; and one great grandchild; a sister: Margaret (Steve) Flack, Arlington, Texas; and a niece and nephew.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Nov. 29, at the Pierceton Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be at 3 p.m. with the service at 3:30 p.m. A graveside service will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton following the memorial service with Military honors by the Pierceton American Legion Post #258. McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel is entrusted with arrangements.
