William A. HorwathWilliam A. Horwath, 82, of Culver and formerly of Highland, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Monday, Nov. 23, 2015, in the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center – Plymouth Campus.

William was born in Hammond, on Feb. 21, 1933, the son of William and Mary Horwath. He graduated from George Rogers Clark High School with the Class of 1950. He gave service to his country in the U.S. Army while stationed in Korea. William was a member of the Glaziers Union Local 27 and retired in 1998. He and his wife Pauline are members of St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in Culver.

Surviving family members include his faithful wife of 54 years: Pauline (Vania); son: David W. (Kasia) Horwath, Munster; daughters: Carolyn (Robert) Bandura, Crown Point; and Michelle (David) Beto, Algonquin, Ill.; grandchildren: Brittany; Jamie; Benjamin; Elizabeth; Alex; and Anna; great-granddaughter: Kya; and numerous nieces and nephews; and brother-in-law: Raymond Zickmund. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister: Leane Zickmund.

The family will receive friends from 9:30-11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, in St. Mary of the Lake Church, Culver. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. with Fr. Jeffery Largent, Pastor, officiating. A committal service will take place at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Chapel Lawn Cemetery Chapel, Schererville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to St. Mary of the Lake Church, Culver.
