Norma Peters, 64, Syracuse, passed away at 4:35 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, 2015, at Avalon Village Healthcare in Ligonier. She was born on Oct. 3, 1951, in Michigan to Harry and Dorothy A. (Gouplski) Prybo.
She grew up in Michigan, attended high school there and was married in April, 1986, in East Stroudsburg, Pa. to Sherwood T. “Tom” Peters who survives. She moved to the Syracuse area 20 years ago and retired from Miller’s Merry Manor in Syracuse after 18 years.
She was a life member of the Eagles Lodge in Syracuse and formerly attended the Wawasee Lakeside Chapel.
She is survived by her husband: Tom Peters, Syracuse; stepdaughter: Sharon Peters, Harrisburg, Pa.; stepson: Sherwood Peters Jr., Pocono, Pa.; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; three sisters: Debra (Robert) Rector, Pierceton; Denise (Mark) Mast, New Paris; and Deanna Schisler, Syracuse; brother: Tom Prybo, Tucson, Ariz.; three stepbrothers: Rusty Richardson; Jimmy Richardson; and Dukie Richardson, all of South Bend. She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother: Ricky Richardson.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2015, at Owen Family Funeral Home, Syracuse. Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, Warsaw.
Preferred memorials may be given to New Hope Pet Rescue, Syracuse.
