David Lowell “Davey” Stayton Sr., 81, Plymouth, passed away of natural causes at 7:36 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, in South Bend Memorial Hospital.
He was a lifetime Marshall County resident and was born the son of Lowell and Sylvia (Jones) Stayton in Argos on Feb. 28, 1934. He was a graduate of Argos High School.
On May 18, 1957, in Argos, he married Norma Hall and together for the next 58 years they have enjoyed spending time with family and friends, fishing and playing euchre. As a young man he drove for Walt Danielson Milk Transport but retired from Indiana Heat Transfer (formerly McCord Corp.) in 2009 after 40 years of service.
Davey is survived by his wife: Norma; and five children: Jo (Kenneth) Hundt, Plymouth; David (Johanna) Stayton Jr., Argos; Johny (Tami) Stayton, Plymouth; Gene Stayton, South Bend; and Karen Stayton, Plymouth; along with seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. One sister: Doris (Stayton) Hooker, Plymouth, also survives. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will receive friends from 3 – 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, Plymouth. Services will begin there at 4 p.m.
