Clifford H. Carpenter
Clifford H. Carpenter, 92, Warsaw, formerly of North Manchester, died at 11:51 p.m. Monday, Nov. 16, 2015, in his residence.
He was born July 28, 1923, in Pike, N.Y., to Alfred S. and Eva Mae (Buckley) Carpenter. On May 22, 1946, he married Esther Oakes. He served in the United States Marine Corp. He was an entrepreneur and salesman and owned a hardware, car lot and filling station. He had a deep love for cars. Cliff was a member of Faith Baptist Church, North Manchester.
He is survived by his wife: Ester Carpenter, Warsaw; two sons: Dale (Vicki) Carpenter, North Manchester; Dana (Kathy) Carpenter, North Hampton, Mass.; three daughters: Diane Rager, Syracuse; Doreen (Doug) Olsen, Colorado Springs, Colo.; and Donna (Chad) VanKirk, Pierceton; one sister: Beatrice Denison, Sinclairville, N.Y.; 17 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. One brother and one grandchild: Ian Olsen, are deceased.
Family and friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, at Faith Baptist Church, North Manchester. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, at Faith Baptist Church, North Manchester. Pastor Andy Gathany and Pastor Doug Olsen will officiate. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester. McKee Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
