Flickinger Leads Panthers Past Central
NAPPANEE – Arika Flickinger had a big night as the NorthWood girls basketball team outlasted Elkhart Central Tuesday night.
Flickinger netted a game-high 19 points as the host Panthers topped the Blue Blazers 61-51 in overtime.
NorthWood had a nine-point lead entering the fourth quarter before being outscored 19-10 by Central in the final frame. The Panthers then outscored their guests 12-2 in the overtime session for the win.
McKayla Fielstra scored 13 points and Andrea Tuttle chipped in with 12 for NorthWood, now 3-2.
Krisen Hurt and Mady Miller each netted 12 points to lead the way for Central, which falls to 2-2. Raleya Ross scored 10 points for coach Will Coatie’s squad.
NorthWood plays at Norwell Saturday afternoon. Central hosts South Bend Clay Friday night.
