WINONA LAKE – The Lakeland Christian Academy girls basketball team dropped a 46-34 final to Churubusco Tuesday night.

The host Cougars led 13-11 after the opening period before being outscored 25-6 over the next two quarters of action in the loss.

Rachel Sand delivered a big game for LCA with 17 points to go with eight rebounds.

Ellie Nieveen netted eight points and had four rebounds for the Cougars. Melissa Goss chipped in with four points, six rebounds and five assists.

Carissa Urschalitz had three points and nine rebounds and Brady Gross two points and five rebounds for LCA.

LCA, now 2-2, will play at Lakewood Park Christian Thursday night. Churubusco, now 2-1, will play at Fairfield Thursday evening.
