NORTH WEBSTER — Little pilgrims and Indians will descend upon the library for the preschool story time’s annual Thanksgiving Feast at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25. Children who are registered and have participated in the fall session of preschool story time are invited to sign up to bring their favorite finger food to share and join us for a Thanksgiving celebration. The feast also marks the end of preschool story time until the winter session which begins in February.
Those who have participated in the weight loss support program Lose It and The Library will feast on delicious low calorie food as they celebrate the program’s conclusion with a “Slimmed Down Carry-In” at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 23. Participants are asked to prepare and bring their favorite reduced calorie dishes to share. The library will provide the table service and free coffee and bottled water.
At 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 23, Voyager Book Club will wet their appetites by discussing recipe books at their monthly meeting. In this book club, everyone selects and shares a book of their choice within each month’s assigned genre. It’s a great way to discover new titles and authors. At next month’s meeting on Dec. 28, the group will be reading and discussing Christmas stories.
If the kids get bored over Thanksgiving break, bring them to the library for Family Movie Time at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 27. Showing is an animated Pixar adventure about a little girl whose emotions run wild when she is uprooted from her peaceful Midwestern life and forced to move to San Francisco. The movie is rated PG and runs 102 minutes. Bring your own beverages and enjoy the free popcorn.
To allow staff members to enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday with their families, the library will close early at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25; be closed all day on Thanksgiving, Nov. 26; and open late at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 27.
