TWF supporters took a tour of seven lakes on the Dixie.
Webster Lake’s Kline Island, also known as the big island, was in danger of eroding into the lake as other islands have in the past. A joint project by The Watershed Foundation, Webster Lake Conservation Association and property owner Indiana Methodist Conference-Epworth Forest, saved it for future use and enjoyment.
The Watershed Foundation partnered with Epworth Forest to install a rain garden on a slope down to Webster Lake. This prevents dirt and debris from entering the lake as the water soaks in the ground to the flowers roots.
The Watershed Foundation hosted seven lakes’ representatives as well as Indiana State Rep. Curt Nisly, District 22, on a Dixie boat cruise to tour some of the TWF projects on Webster Lake. He is shown with TWF Executive Director Lyn Crighton.
